Day forty-eight, story nineteen

I finished my 19th short story of the year a few minutes ago. It's an 800-word romance about two pianists, and was written entirely today. The manuscript will go into the mail tomorrow.

Curiosity killed the cat, and I'm not feeling all that healthy either.

Is your romance for Woman's World?

Since you're the master of marketing, would you be willing to share your experience with this HARD to crack magazine?!

Yes, Susanne, the new story is on it's way to Woman's World.

My experience with WW is limited. Several years ago I submitted a few short mysteries and all were rejected. A few months ago I put WW into my writing rotation.

The first two stories I sent--both romances--were rejected, one with a photocopied rejection slip, one with a full-color, printed rejection slip. The photocopied rejection slip came back quickly, the full-color rejection slip took much longer to come back.

I've heard that the postmark on the envelope containing a rejection from WW is significant, but I didn't pay any attention to that and those envelopes are now landfill.

Including the story that went in the mail today, I have five romances and one mystery out to WW.
