Two acceptances today, my 17th and 18th acceptances of the year. Accepted were the story I queried yesterday and the story I submitted on April 2. Both sold to anthologies.
I never know what kind of response time to expect when submitting to anthologies. Some editors accept and reject submissions on the fly. Other anthology editors--I'm one of them--wait until after the submission deadline before accepting and rejecting.
Anthology deadlines are frustrating. I've written stories only to find that they've already filled their slots two months before the deadline. Which leaves me with a story that might not fit another market.

That was quick! Good deal.

In my very limited expereince, I have always had to wait until the deadline passed---and then some.
Clearly, I am writing under the wrong name.

That has not yet happened to me, Sandra, but I can see how it might.
Most of my anthology submissions this past year have been made within a few weeks of the stated deadline.
